Aloha my name is Halle Kawaionālani Sabagala Garcia. My first name, Halle, doesn't have any special meaning other than being named after the actress, Halle Berry. My middle name, Kawaionālani, given to me by my mother, is an Inoa Pō (dream name), meaning the "Heavenly Waters". Water is a source of new life, like fresh water falling from heaven, my birth would give her that new life and a hope for a better tomorrow. When I was still in my momʻs stomach, she had a dream about what I was going to mean for her life. During that time, she was going through some hardship in her life. My last two names represent my momʻs side of my family, Sabagala, and my dadʻs side, Garcia.
More about me... I am from the island of Oʻahu, and was born and raised in the ahupuaʻa of Haleʻiwa. Haleʻiwa is part of the moku of, Waialua. The wind that breezes thru here is called, Nāulu. I am currently a senior at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama. Kamehameha has become a second home for me for the past 12 years of my life. I feel bittersweet about graduating this year. Although I am very excited to finish high school , there have been so many memories created here, it will be very hard to leave. High school has been the most challenging years of my life. However, extra-curricular activities made it somewhat manageable. Throughout my high school journey, I have enjoyed serving as a Poʻokula Ambassador, Peer Educator, Football and Wrestling Manager.
During my free time, l I love to dance hula. Iʻve been dancing since I was seven and currently dance for, Nā Lei o Ka Iwa Haʻa I ka Lani, under the direction of, Kumu Tatiana Fox. Through Hula I have learned a lot about myself and my Hawaiian culture. When Iʻm not dancing hula, I love to spending time with my family. I have two younger half-sisters who live with my dad. My youngest sister, Madison, just turned eight and my other sister, Jada, 14. Not only am I the oldest child I am also the oldest grand baby on both sides of my family. I feel a lot of pressure to do good and set a good influence. (For more about my 'Ohana click button below)
